Welcome to the 2023 Slaw/VurbWes/Troy Dog Combined 250/450 Top Ten Power Rankings! Slaw, Wes, and Troy each have created their own list of who they believe carry the most power in the sport. They each have created their own categories and have weighted these people accordingly, whether its speed, following, SX skills, you name it.

Each week these rankings will be updated so that you guys can argue about how wrong they are in the comment section! Feel free to tell us if we’re right/wrong/or completely dumb.

Troy’s Rankings:

RJ brought his baseball sliding skills back out and put them to the test in the Showdown! I also talked to RJ this week about the Showdown, his two-year deal, and being on the MLB network.

Barcia’s stock is the highest it’s ever been since his rookie 450 season.

Anstie put all of his riding experience to the test and won his first ever race here in America. What a up and down career this guy has put together!

Kevin Moranz got seventh in a 450SX main event and you’ll never be able to take that from him.

My HEP teammate Sugar Shane also had a career best finish in the main event in East Rutherford. A sixth place! He doesn’t know it yet, but I’m coming to Nashville and I’m going to steal one of his jerseys that he offered me at Indy.

Star Dog has been having a difficult time this season with his knee and he’s starting to come around now. A season best 14th in the mud was a great step in the right direction. His qualifying speed is coming back as well. He’s been scrubbing his race bike in Nashville since Wednesday.

Mudders are always the great equalizer. I love mudders and it allows for some different results. I just hope it doesn’t rain in Nashville!

Tomac gutted out a second after a wild practice crash in practice that saw him limp off of the track. I wasn’t sure he would be able to race after that one.

Cullin Park is quietly having a really solid sophomore season on his Phoenix Racing Honda. He was 8th in the Showdown.

My buddy Foggy Llama Films has been busy making Vlogs for McElrath this season and if you haven’t watched them, do so now. His edits are fun, are filled with good vibes, and good music. The SM12 and Foggy collaboration is one of the best things to happen in moto this year.

Slaw’s Rankings:

I will bullet point my thoughts so it is easier to read. Troy Dog has a hard time reading, so I’m making it easy for him to see how much better my rankings are.

  • MORANZ. I don’t care if it was muddy or not, what a finish for the privateer.
  • Mad Max! Did anyone NOT have him as the favorite in the mud?
  • What a season for Bam. Glad to have him back in the mix.
  • WE are going to Unadilla for J Day on May 13-14! Show your mom a great weekend with Vurb.
  • Ole Jack has gone to Europe to compete in MX2 with DRT Kawasaki. Well, last weekend at the British Championship, Jack won the damn overall. Heck yeah.
  • Eli gonna Eli. What a performance after a scare in practice.
  • Great season for Ken. Very underrated.
  • Jett gonna Jett. Hunter gonna Hunter.
  • RJ is a former baseball player. He was on MLB Network last week. Then he tried to slide into home. Love it.
