The New GoPro View in Monster Energy Supercross is Pretty Rad

As is the case in all amateur AMA Racing disciplines and Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross, Monster Energy AMA Supercross no longer allows cameras or other accessories to be attached to a rider’s helmet.

You can read the rule from the AMA below:

1.17 Rider Apparel
e. All cameras, devices or accessories of any type are prohibited to be mounted to the rider’s helmet. Mounting is allowed on the motorcycle or on the body of the rider. The rider assumes full responsibility for mounting and placement.

That doesn’t mean we won’t be getting some amazing GoPro footage from Monster Energy Supercross events this year. That’s right, GoPro is now mounting cameras behind riders front number plate. I’ll be honest, the footage is still pretty amazing.
