Team USA has been announced and there is no Haiden Deegan on the squad. As with anything Deegan related, the Internet is either BIG mad or understanding. I’m sure the message boards are super calm about this, seeing as he was the most dominate rider in Pro Motocross, won a title, and was the first choice for the MX2 Class.
Yep, everyone has remained chill and looked at this through a fair and balanced lens, just like they always do.
Deegan got ahead of it all yesterday on the Gram and explained why he won’t be representing Team USA in the UK this year…
“Wanted to get the record straight I have hardware in my wrist that needs to be taken out after Smx and will have to heal, so the team has made the decision to not let me attend the mxon to make sure I can make pre season training this year on time to give me the best chance at a sx title, so don’t get it confused I’m a racer and wanted to race, and if the opportunity comes up in the future I’d be stoked to do it, thanks to everyone that supports me.”
For weeks, I’ve heard from a ton of people that Deegan needed to get some hardware out, so I don’t think this is something that is being “made up” or used as an “excuse”. But hey, its the Internet and it’s Deegan so….
