Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, is proud to announce an extensive update to its industry-leading flagship Motocross model, the new 2026 YZ450F. Faced with the complex challenge of improving on a bike already widely considered the benchmark of the ultra-competitive 450cc four-stroke class, Yamaha engineers put significant focus into refining power delivery and handling performance to achieve a level of precision, control and tuneability that sets a new class standard: the easiest bike to ride fast. There are few—if any—teams that have reached the level of success the Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing squad achieved during the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250SX Championship. The factory Honda teams of the 1980s and Mitch Payton’s legendary Pro Circuit organizations are some of the only comparisons that even belong in the conversation.
And even then, what Yamaha Star Racing accomplished this season stands on its own.
Heading into 2026, everyone expected Haiden Deegan to be the rider to beat in the 250SX West Division. What nobody fully saw coming was just how dominant the entire program would be. Between Deegan continuing to raise the bar and New Zealand phenom Cole Davies delivering a breakout sophomore campaign and dominating East Division title run, Star Racing turned the 250SX class into a showcase of depth, speed, and consistency unlike anything we’ve seen in years.
The result? A staggering 16 wins in 17 rounds, both the East and West Region championships, and the Manufacturers Cup. The numbers are almost hard to believe. Consider this: the team had five different race winners, seven different riders land a podium and eight different riders capture a top-five finish–ALL IN ONE YEAR.
Let’s dig into the incredible numbers a bit more:
