Slawdictions: Never Doubt Cooper Webb, Ryno Nation Celebrates and More

WE HAVE MADE IT! The Monster Energy Supercross Championship wrapped up in Slaw Lake City on Saturday with three champions being crowned. Cooper Webb clinched his second 450 title, while Star Racing teammates Colt Nichols and Justin Cooper grabbed their first 250 championships. Seeing as there is no more racing until Pro Motocross starts, I, Slaw, will be reviewing my picks today. You are welcome.

If you forgot, this blazing column is brought to you by the fine people at FLY Racing, who have stepped in to support Slaw and #slawnation couldn’t be happier. Visit www.flyracing.com and support those who support Slaw.

Prediction

Marv won without a neck brace and all of Ryno Nation celebrated!!!! I don’t see Marv winning again, but I do like him for another top five. It’s been a weird year for Marvin, but I think he’s getting hot at the right time.

I don’t think Ryno Nation is going to be able to handle no neck Marv. After picking up his first win of the season at Slaw Lake City 1, Marv backed it up — as I correctly predicted — with a runner-up finish at Slaw Lake City 2. Great run to end the year for Marv and he probably just earned himself another contract.

Slawdiction: 10 out of 10.

Prediction

I really thought Michael Mosiman was the fastest guy last Saturday. I also thought his race craft was seriously lacking. Look, I don’t like arm chair quarterbacking these things, but hey, even Mosiman admitted it.

“I felt like I was the fastest guy out there today, I just crumbled on the race craft, trying to make passes in spots that weren’t ideal, and it cost me the win,” he said in a team statement. “I believe I was the guy that should have been winning and it’s disappointing but I’m trying to learn from it. I will be better going forward.”

I like him for a podium this weekend.

WE were looking really good. WE won East Region heat race and WE were 100 percent going to podium in the main event. Well, looks like someone in the 250 field reads Slawdictions and for one reason or another wanted to F Slaw and took Mosiman out on the start. WE didn’t have a chance after that.

Slawdiction: Incomplete

Prediction

LEAD SLAW LOCK OF THE WEEK ALERT. I’m really going out on a bun here, but Cooper Webb, Justin “Not Webb” Cooper and Colt Nichols will all clinch their respective titles this weekend.

I mean, trust in Slaw, good things happen.

Slawdiction: 10 out of 10.

Prediction

Both Justin “Not Webb” Cooper and Cooper Webb will be in championship mode and I don’t think either will podium this weekend. Did I just doubt Cooper Webb? I did and will probably regret it.

NEVER DOUBT COOPER WEBB. NEVER DOUBT COOPER WEBB. NEVER DOUBT COOPER WEBB. NEVER DOUBT COOPER WEBB. NEVER DOUBT COOPER WEBB. NEVER DOUBT COOPER WEBB. NEVER DOUBT COOPER WEBB. NEVER DOUBT COOPER WEBB. NEVER DOUBT COOPER WEBB. NEVER DOUBT COOPER WEBB.

Justin “Not Webb” Cooper did not podium, as Slaw correctly predicted. So there is that.

Slawdiction: 5 out of 10.

Prediction

Yep, calling it right now, Ferrandis lands on the box for the first time since his surprise runner-up finish at round 2 in Houston.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO CLOSE. Dylan finished fourth, one spot off the box, and well, sh** happens, doggies.

Slawdiction: 4 out of 10.
