Welcome to the 2023 Slaw/Troy Dog/Ginger Dog Combined 250/450 Top Ten Power Rankings! Slaw, Ginger, and Troy each have created their own list of who they believe carry the most power in the sport. They each have created their own categories and have weighted these people accordingly, whether its speed, following, skills, you name it. Or it could just be random. Basically, whatever is happening that week is fair game.

Each week these rankings will be updated so that you guys can argue about how wrong they are in the comment section! Feel free to tell us if we’re right/wrong/or completely dumb.

Slaw Dog:

-Jett gonna Jett.

-Hunter gonna Hunter.

-Ginger and Troy have a lot more on the Har of the Dog, but man, what a ride.

-As Coney Island Dog pointed out this week, Butron NEVER got a top 8 finish in his six years in MXGP. Crazy!

-Jerry DID NOT Jerry. Some of us had faith and picked him in PulpMX Fantasy. Some of us were very happy.

-Dammit. I wrote this before Sexton’s injury/illness and now I’m just sad.

-Dude!

-Guillem gonna be a force this summer. Mark my words.

-Max gonna be a force this summer. Mark my words.

-RJ is just full on heart. Love it.

Ginger Dog:

-Hamp, after a couple crashes and several passes you took 1-11 for third overall. I’ll say it again, you’re the guy that has me yelling during the races. You just keep hammering it out and you never let up. Credit to @rotoxmoto, when it was all said and done I think I saw you made 40 something passes? Incredible.

-Shocker. You’re back on my list. Going 9-6 for an overall seventh made me a little emotional (not as bad as T-Dog though, he was the one that was crying in front of the TV). Thin 450 field or not, we all know what you’re capable of. Moto two was wild. Had you had a little more time I am convinced you would have caught Webb. Also, congrats on the round one Privateer Power Award. I’m a proud squad mom.

-Jett, Chase pressed hard toward the end of moto two, but you still took P1 going 1-1. When I first started to really invest in racing it was 2015, 2016? All I remember was that it seemed to be the Ryan Dungey takeover. Now that you’re on the 450 it may be the Jett Lawrence takeover. Rewind. That has already been happening…450, 250 it doesn’t really matter. You could ride anything and make it look easy.

-I’m a Danger Boy fan. There is no denying the fact that he’s really good. Deegs, what a start to the ‘23 outdoor season. P2 overall. It might have been your career first podium, but it will definitely not be your last. I mean my God kid, you’re only 17!

-Yeah, yeah “Jerry didn’t Jerry.” I’m proud of you dude. Overall 11th was cool to witness. A 20 point start to the ‘23 outdoor season is pretty awesome seeing as how you ended your ‘22 outdoor season with 20 points. You’re already ahead….as long as you don’t Jerry at Hangtown (slightly worried that I just put that into the universe but we’re gonna send it in honor of Jerry…because that’s what Jerry would do…WWJD…Okay, I’m done). Good job, J!

-I saw some Twitter chatter discussing the fact you qualified 16th. I’ll be the first to admit it, I know a little bit about a lot (including racing). My vibe is that I don’t worry too much about how guys perform during qualifying. Chances are they are going to surprise you in the mains. Tom, you went fourth overall at your FIRST OUTDOOR NATIONAL in the States. I mean come on y’all, the guy is 22 and is a two-time MX2 Motocross World Champion. I feel like I don’t need to add anything more to this.

-In case you didn’t hear, Ashton Bloxom made his pro MX debut this past weekend. I’ll quote his IG @ashtonbloxom “Got a holeshot, led some laps and got stuck between two walkthrough tunnels. Onto the next one.” He’s okay guys, don’t worry. I asked him myself. This all leads me to Braden Baumer. The OG pineapple squad logo mastermind. Bloxom’s bike graphics had me reflecting on how crucial Baum is. He’s truly gifted at what he does and he’s an overall awesome human. His work even made it on the butts of Team Solitaire (which looked 100% better than Slaw’s sloppy glizzy). Baum, thanks for sticking with us and for always being open to so many ideas. Our work is not even close to finished. Check out his IG @dabaum_designs. He’s good.

-“Cracked, not broken!” The optimism I wish I had about literally anything. I’m glad you’re okay, Keef.

-Less than a month. Oof. That snuck up.

-Chili Dog married Corn Dog last weekend. I can’t not acknowledge that. I’ve never met Aubrey in person but if she deals with Wes she must be the real deal. Congrats! P.S. Aubs, can we hang? I need mom friends.

Troy Dog:

-When I had the chance to chat with ol’ Har Dog after another new career best (9-6/7th overall) at Pala he reminded me how far WE’ve come. He’s put in all of the work to achieve his results and I would never claim to have anything to do with that. Yet, we both decided to get going when things got rough last year. When we started working together in 2021 he wanted a way to stand out that was different from everyone else. I wanted an ELITE Squad of privateers and he had the skill and speed that no one seemed to notice. Well, everyone notices now. The Privateer Power Award goes to Grant Harlan, the All-Star from PulpMX Fantasy, and WE are just getting started. I’m not surprised at how well he’s doing either.

-I launched my first podcast this week! The Squad Pod is now live and it’s something that I’ve wanted to do for years. Episode 1 was with Shane McElrath and we talked about life and stuff brooooooother!!! Shane was an incredibly honest interview and you don’t want to miss that. Download it on the Vurbmoto Podcast Network today!

-I understand why they named him Jett as a kid. I’m pretty sure he can outrun a freaking jet plane.

-Hunter topped a deep 250 field (as expected), but this summer isn’t going to be a walk in the park for him.

-So, you’re telling me that Sexton raced Pala with mono? Bro, most people can’t even get out of bed with mono. That’s not normal. It’s a serious blow to the series that Sexton is forced to sit out Hangtown and possibly more races after that, however concussions are nothing to turn a blind eye to. He’s doing the right thing and will come back stronger. This 450 class keeps getting more and more unpredictable.

-Ashton Bloxom made his pro debut at Pala. It was a dream come true for him, however after not racing for so long he was a little rusty. Bloxom had to race the LCQ and he pulled a HUGE holeshot in it too! He led for the first lap before losing control and getting stuck between two tunnels. He will be back stronger at Hangtown, which is a track that he really likes. Keep an eye on the 866.

-My buddy, Aub Dog, whom I have never even had the chance to meet, married my best friend Chili Dog last week. I’m so happy for them. Aub Doggy got to have her dream day and I would include Chili Dog on this list as well, but I put him on every week. *Shrugs* Aub Dog for the win.

-I didn’t expect a 6-2 day for Deegs, but I’m not surprised. We’re going to see a lot of the same throughout the Summer. If he can keep it together like he did in SX then he’s going to contend for this championship.

-Jerry Robin. I’m going to talk to you soon and get your story. #squadpod. I’m going to slide in those DMs.

-I found out long ago that it’s a long way down the Holiday Road. Prayers up to Ginger Dog, who may or may not survive the summer with our feral children.
