As always, I will review my predictions from Fox Raceway before we get into Hangtown.

Prediction | Jeremy Martin Podiums

I think we are all overlooking the two-time champ coming into the season. He’s healthy, which is a big plus, and I think he podiums this weekend.

I will refer to this PR and I have no comment moving foward.

Prediction | Guillem Farres Top 7 Overall

Member Guillem Farres? The Spanish kid who showed up late last year with Star Racing Yamaha and just dealt in the 250 Class? He’s back and super duper under the radar. Kid has got speed and has been prepping all off-season. I think he surprises again with a top 7 overall.

This kid is legit! He went 8-5 FOR 8TH OVERALL! Someone obviously has it out for Slaw. I consider this top 7.

Prediction | Noren Top 5

Freddy Noren has been lurking inside the top 10 of Pro Motocross for like 90 years. He’s signed with HEP Suzuki for the summer and while he’s had little prep, I got him for a top 5 overall. Yep, living on the edge over here.

I may have gone a little too far out on the bun with this one. I will only improve from here.

Prediction | Off-Road Dudes Gonna Crush

The 450 field is certainly missing some star power heading into the weekend. This presents an opportunity for some riders to make a splash. We’ve seen off-road dudes do well in Pro Motocross before — Kailub Russell, Ricky Dietrich, etc — and this weekend will be no different. Dante Oliveira and Ryan Surratt are racing this weekend and both get a top 15. Stamp it.

The off-road boys finished 13th and 14th overall. When you hot, you hot.

Prediction | Kris Keefer Makes Top 40

Keefer, FOV (friend of Vurb), is once again trying to make the top 40 this weekend. Keefer is in his 40s and still out grinding. Gotta respect it. He’s trying to become the oldest man in the 40-rider field (I think) this weekend and I think it happens.

This is all Matthews fault. WE will be back strong at Thunder Valley.

Jett Goes 1-1

Man, Sexton’s injury sucks for everyone. Him. The team. The series. We, the fans. EVERYONE! With Sexton out, I think Jett goes 1-1 again. This may be a long summer for the 450 Class.

Vohland Overall Podium

This is basically Maximus’ home track. He feels good here. He felt good last weekend at Fox Raceway. He will be on the overall podium. Stamp that shish.

Hymas Top 8

Probably not what Chance wanted at the opening round, but man, this class is deep. A bad start and you’re toast. I think he rebounds this weekend with a top 8 finish.
