The 250SX West Division is back in action this weekend in Denver, Colorado, and Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing’s Haiden Deegan can clinch his first ever 250SX Monster Energy Supercross title. While Deegan’s accomplishments in his young career are vast, a Supercross title has so far eluded him.
Deegan’s 250 Career Accomplishments
- 2-time SuperMotocross World Championship 250SMX Champion (2024, 2023)
- 2024 AMA Pro Motocross Championship 250 Champion
- 2-time Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championships 250SX East Runner-Up (2024, 2023)
- 2023 AMA 250SX and Pro Motocross 250 Class Rookie of the Year
Deegan enters this weekend 17-points clear of teammate Cole Davies with only two rounds remaining in the championship. Julien Beaumer is third in points, trailing Deegan by 26. So, how can Deegan clinch this weekend? Check out a few scenarios below.

Keep in mind, the below is based on taking into consideration tie-breaker rules. If Davies were to win the final two rounds, he would have 4 total wins to Deegan’s 2. Meaning, he would have the most wins and take the tie-breaker. Deegan currently has more second place finishes, so if Davies were to only win one of the final two, Deegan would hold the tie-breaker.
2025 Monster Energy Supercross Championship Tie-Breaker Rules
- In the case where two or more Riders have the same number of points, the Riders will be ranked according to the greatest number of Main Event and Triple Crown Overall wins.
- If a tie still exists after that, the greatest number of second place finishes, third place finishes etc. will be used in the same manner, until the tie is broken.
- If a tie still exists after that, the Rider having the best finish in the last race will prevail.
- In all cases, a race finish will not count in any of these determinations where a Rider was Disqualified
If Deegan Wins…
If Deegan were to win this weekend, Davies would need to finish 5th or worse for Deegan to clinch.
If Deegan Finishes Second…
If Deegan were to finish second, Davies would need to finish 8th or worse.
If Deegan Finishes Third…
If Deegan were to finish third, Davies would need to finish 10th or worse for Deegan to clinch.
If Deegan Finishes Fourth…
For Deegan to clinch in this scenario, Davies would have to finish 12th or worse.
If Deegan Finishes Fifth…
In this case, Davies would need to finish 13th or worse.
While there are more scenarios, what is boils down to is, Deegan needs to gain 8 points on Davies this weekend to clinch. While it is not a lock, Deegan does have chance to put his first SX title on ice in Denver.
