World Mini Video of the Week: Throwback to 2008 Featuring Starling, Cianciarulo, Anstie, and Friese

The Vurbmoto World Mini event of the century is coming up on April 4-7 at Mesquite MX! Everyone in the world is invited. Click here to register now!

Back in the day, our crew never missed a World Mini event. It was a staple on the amateur national circuit and all of the top pros in the 450 class today cut their teeth racing at World Mini. Through the years the event changed hands, then last year WE brought it back in the biggest way ever.

It’s a prestige event that you’ll need to race to become the next Eli Tomac. The trophies are taller than Benny Bloss and the fun your family will have at the event will be even bigger.

Proof That Our Trophies Are Taller Than Bloss

Yesterday I was browsing through our World Mini video archives and we have so much goodness that it’s insane. Each week leading up to the event, I’ll pull a pic or video and we’ll talk about it. Here we go!

Throw It Back to 2008 World Mini

  • The first thing that sounds out to me is the style of 2008. Look at Starling’s hat! That was what we all wore back then. Lil’ Star Pup.
  • AC shredding the 85cc was always a good look.
  • Nice cameo by Ben Lamay on his Yamaha.
  • Remember Beau Hudson? He was another fast guy from Pilot Point, Texas. Just like Hunter Hewitt, Matt Lemoine, Blake and Tyler Wharton. What was in the water back then?
  • *Gasp* Vince Friese.
  • I always thought Lowell Spangler was going to get a Pro Circuit ride or something. He was fast. I should catch up with him to see how he’s doing in life.
  • The shades guys, I can’t even take you seriously.
  • Cianciarulo was only four years old in this.
  • I’m kidding.
  • Is that Jake Riggle?
  • Frankie Lettieri on the Rockstar Suzuki was a tough combination.
  • RIP Erv Braun.
  • Gannon Audette on the #533 Honda is one of the nicest guys you’ll meet. I need to catch up with him as well. Remember when he filled in for Pro Circuit and got a podium?
  • I see you Terren O’Dell. He qualified for Thunder Valley in the 450 Class last summer!
  • Mini Coop shredding the CRF150.
