Back in the day, our crew never missed a World Mini event. It was a staple on the amateur national circuit and all of the top pros in the 450 class today cut their teeth racing at World Mini. Through the years the event changed hands, then last year WE brought it back in the biggest way ever.
It’s a prestige event that you’ll need to race to become the next Eli Tomac. The trophies are taller than Benny Bloss and the fun your family will have at the event will be even bigger.
Yesterday I was browsing through our World Mini video archives and we have so much goodness that it’s insane. Each week leading up to the event, I’ll pull a pic or video and we’ll talk about it. Here we go!
2009 World Mini – Wednesday
- The Fox gear that Jacob Hayes is wearing made it so mainstream. That print was all over hats and tee shirts and I think you could buy it at Pac Sun at the mall.
- Ask your mom what a mall is.
- Some guy named Joey Savatgy is chasing after Hayes. The Red Bull helmet and MSR gear is a combo that you’ll never see again.
- JoDog posts weird questions on Twitter these days and I’m here for it.
- Cooper Webb seemed to always wear #7 at World Mini, I don’t remember why.
- It’s like a fever dream to think that they had a 150cc class.
- Jessy Nelson’s Thor gear would be a best seller today. That gear is timeless.
- I always wanted to be cool enough to have that Thor font. They need to bring that back.
- This was 15 years ago!
- Remember Landon Currier? He was an absolute dog.
- Matt Bisceglia went on a huge growth spurt in this era and looked like a grown man riding that supermini.
- BRING BACK THE RED BULL JAMS PROGRAM!!!
