Vurbmoto Power Rankings Heading into Tampa

Welcome to the 2023 Slaw/VurbWes/Troy Dog Combined 250/450 Top Ten Power Rankings! Slaw, Wes, and Troy each have created their own list of who they believe carry the most power in the sport. They each have created their own categories and have weighted these people accordingly, whether its speed, following, SX skills, you name it.

Each week these rankings will be updated so that you guys can argue about how wrong they are in the comment section! Feel free to tell us if we’re right/wrong/or completely dumb.

Slaw Dog’s Pre-Tampa Rankings

Slaw: I will bullet point my thoughts so it is easier to read. Troy Dog has a hard time reading, so I’m making it easy for him to see how much better my rankings are.

  • Did you watch Eli at Houston? Yeah? Then you understand why he’s no 1.
  • Hunter picked up where Jett left off. Double bro titles?
  • #peegate
  • Wil Hahn is now 4-0 vs Steve. Anyone smell an undefeated season?
  • Seriously, even Max’s folks didn’t see this coming.
  • Michael Hicks captured his fourth General Tires Arenacross Outlaws championship on Friday night in Memphis, TN. He and his dad drove straight through the dang night to Houston for Supercross, where Hicks finished 19th in 250SX. Dawg!

Troy Dog’s Pre-Tampa Rankings

Troy Dog: It’s truly undeniable that Eli Tomac deserves to be number one on this list, despite my bestie VurbWes’ best efforts to thwart this. So, if Wes can’t be number one, then I won’t allow him to be on the list this week.

The 250SX East rookies all showed that they have plenty of promise and a new era in the sport started at Houston.

The sand absolutely dominated the Houston track and took out so many riders and didn’t even pay for their entree.

Even retired, Justin Brayton still dominates, this time on Race Day Live.

Adam Plessinger is an ode to Todd Harris and I’ve missed hearing him called that this season.

Rounding out the top ten is John Short’s mustache that has given him the power to make three out of four 450SX main events this season.

VurbWes’ Pre-Tampa Rankings

VurbWes: Apparently we got left out of the super duper supercross meeting this week with all the media, but that doesn’t stop me from putting putting SX #1. Damn it’s so great to have our Saturdays back, RIGHT?! Luckily, Brennan and the boys know we’re on top of the game over here and probably felt it’d be best to let us stay in office to keep doing God’s work.

Second to that, a CLOSE SECOND, is the fact we’re brining back the WORLD. MINI. GRAND. PRIX. HUGE news that dominated the web this week, so clearly it was powerful enough to grab the second position.

I added the Super Bowl, because I had to show, while it’s cool, SX does smoke the shit out of it.

I’d be idiotic not to have Tomac dominate the board as the first rider, clearly the most powerful power ranger of all (although can’t say Blue Ranger Billy was close to my favorite), followed up by the Red Ranger Hunter Lawrence and Chase Sexton. I don’t really understand why we mix 250 and 450 on these things, but I just listen to Troy Dog CEO and mix shit up, okay? And that’s that. Eat it, Sam!!

Unquotables is a can’t miss IMO and so glad we were genius enough to have Coney Dog start making up fake quotes from the riders. They’re way more interesting (and powerful) than real, true to life ones.

Rookies + Max Anstie kicked ass and surprised, so I’m on both those hype trains.

Did I mention the return of WORLD MINI?!?! Didn’t think so. April 6-9th at Mesquite MX, an hour north of Vegas. Come race AND gamble away you kids college tuition. The beers are on Slaw Dog!

Until next week, when you need me to tell you which riders carry the most power in the sport. Might as well start calling me Zordon.
