You love March Madness, WE love March Madness, so let’s have some Vurbmoto Madness, shall we? We understand that March is now over, but we’re giving you guys some time to think these choices over. Today WE are announcing the two racers who have made it to the final championship round!

If you’re late to this party, Troy Dog spent a weekend creating the ultimate list of the best riders to ever do the thing and we seeded them into a sweet sixteen bracket. Each week you have voted either here on the website, or on social media, to decide which riders move onto the next round.

We’ve had controversies, as discussed on this week’s Vanilla Racing Broadcast, but it’s all good people, we made it to the Finals!

The Results Are In:

1.) Ricky Carmichael

vs.

4.) Ryan Villopoto

Instagram Vote:

RC: 64%

RV: 36%

Site Vote:

RC: 82%

RV: 18%

The GOAT moves into the Finals and no one is shocked.

2.) Jeremy McGrath

vs.

6.) Eli Tomac

Instagram Vote:

The King: 46%

ET: 54%

Site Vote:

The King: 49%

ET: 51%

Eli Tomac from a six seed is now in the Finals! ET has certainly earned his way here as he sits second in all-time 450SX wins, championships AND his motocross wins and titles. The Finals voting will start next week on our Instagram and we will have a site vote as well. Each of the polls count the same, so vote on both or pick one.

Can Tomac take down the GOAT? We will have to wait and see!

  1. I love these polls, I was surprised Jeremy didn’t have more votes but it makes some sense because I heard he didn’t do that well outdoors, Eli has two(in my heart its three) sx titles and six(i think)mx titles. I wasn’t alive when Jeremy was dominant, and if I was alive during Ricky, James and Chad, i was very young. I love watching older races to see what was going on back then. I also did a supercross history project for one of my community college classes, and I did a slide show on how those air bag jackets could be useful/required for moto when they get all of the issues out of the way. Sorry this is long, but I wanted to give my thoughts.
