Takes: Injury News Ahead of Pro Motocross Opener at Fox Raceway

It is finally here. The opening round of the 2026 Pro Motocross Championship gets underway this Saturday at Fox Raceway, marking the next chapter in the SMX World Championship season.

With the transition from Monster Energy AMA Supercross to Pro Motocross, the paddock looks much different than it did just a few weeks ago. Several riders are set to make their return from injury, while others who were expected to line up will instead begin the summer on the sidelines.

Before the gate drops on Round 1, take a look at who’s back and who will be missing the start of the 2026 Pro Motocross Championship at Fox Raceway.

450 Class

Jason Anderson missed most of Monster Energy Supercross with a thyroid problem. He will not race the opener and no timeline on a return is known.

Benny Bloss missed all of Monster Energy Supercross due to a broken wrist but will return for Pro Motocross.

RJ Hampshire suffered two broken metatarsals in his foot during the Supercross season but will return for outdoors.

Jett Lawrence is racing after missing all of Supercross due to a dislocated ankle and tibia, and a broken talus in a pre-season crash that required 11 screws and four pins to repair.

Mitchell Oldenburg returns after missing most of the Supercross season due to a broken arm suffered in San Diego.

Aaron Plessinger suffered a labral tear in his hip and missed the end of the Supercross season. He returns for Pro Motocross.

Joey Savatgy is out for this weekend after he dislocated his wrist in Denver. A return date is unknown.

Eli Tomac went down hard at the season final of Supercross but didn’t sustain any serious injuries and is back for outdoors.

250 Class

Drew Adams sustained an arm injury at Cleveland Supercross and is out for the opener.

Julien Beaumer makes his return to racing after missing all of Supercross after sustaining a burst fracture to his L3 vertebra in the SMX Playoffs.

Pierce Brown suffered a broken collarbone and dislocated wrist in Supercross. He’s out for the opener.

Casey Cochran sustained a broken collarbone prior to Supercross and then reagravated the injury in Detroit and missed the remainder of the season. He’s back in action this weekend.

Austin Forkner is back racing the 250 Class after moving up to the 450 Class for Supercross. He missed time with a hand injury but will return to racing this weekend.

Chance Hymas dislocated his shoulder during Supercross and missed the majority of the season. He’ll return for Fox Raceway.

Cameron McAdoo is out after fracturing his hand in a crash at the Supercross season finale in Salt Lake City.

Michael Mosiman returns after dislocating his elbow and breaking his radius, finger and multiple bones in his hand.

Jo Shimoda returns after sustaining a small fracture in his left fibula during Supercross.

Jalek Swoll it out for the majority–if not all–the season after undergoing surgery earlier this year for an Achilles injury sustained in Supercross.
