In a team press release, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s Malcolm Stewart said his knee is “nothing to be too concerned about” after having to pull out of the second 450 moto at the opening round of the Pro Motocross Championship at Fox Raceway on Saturday.
After opening the season with a 12th in the first moto, Stewart said he “dabbed” his knee in the second moto and pulled off to make sure the injury wasn’t more serious.
“Pala is always an interesting track,” said Stewart. “Practice, I struggled a little bit, but I felt I had some good momentum going into Moto 1, and actually rode a pretty solid race. And then in Moto 2, the first lap, I dabbed my knee in a corner a little bit, which was frustrating. It’s nothing to be too concerned about – I pulled off for the rest of the race just to make sure that nothing was too crazy, and now we’ll re-evaluate and hopefully line up in Sacramento.”
The second round of the Pro Motocross Championship takes place this Saturday in Rancho Cordova, CA, for the Hangtown National. We will update Stewart’s status for round 2 as more information is avaliable.
