T-Dog’s Hot Takes: Anaheim 1

Welcome to a new column for 2022! It’s Troy Dog here giving you my hot takes from every single race this season! I’m going to be honest with you, some of these are facts, and the rest I’m going to say them so much that they actually become facts. So, let’s get into this, shall we?

Here’s what stood out to me at A1!

This track was challenging and not like a normal Anaheim opener layout.

The riders loved it so much that most of them ended up laying on it.

The 250 West Region isn’t as stacked as I thought it would be.

EVERYONE forgot how good Vince Friese is at Supercross.

Good starts, good sprint speed, great defense, THAT’S WHAT VINCE FRIESE DOES!

Christian Craig can basically sleepwalk his way to this title.

Team Solitaire really is the coolest team in the pits.

Marchbanks. He’s not here to slow dance boys and girls.

Blose is gonna Blose.

Mumford looks tall.

Mosiman will figure this out, right?

Shimoda and Mosiman get gold stars for their comebacks.

OMG Hammaker before the checkers!

Hunter Lawrence is the most consistent 250 class rider when he is healthy.

Poor Swoll.

Poor Nichols.

First race as a Troy Dog Squad Elite Athlete and Justin Starling wins a race. Coincidence? NOPE!

Jason Anderson is back! Jersey untucked is how we know this!

Ken Roczen has the best sprint speed in the game.

Mookie was only a wee bit upset with Marv.

The term “pointy bois“ needs to be stopped, they’re called whoopdie doos for crying out loud!

If Cooper Webb is this good at the opener, despite not being the fastest rider, then we are all screwed.

This entire 450 main is a poop show. I love this game!

Dean Wilson got 12th. I never saw him all day.

My prediction that Ferrandis would podium was wr…wr…wrong.

Shocker, Justin Brayton had a great heat race.

I got up to pee and missed Cade Clason taking out Alex Martin. What was that about?

Breece looked spicy.

After a buttload of riders on Kawasaki last year, only two were in the 450 main. AC and JA.

Savatgy put in a great off-season and looks ready to go.

The track was spewing moisture all night and took out 36 front ends.

Poor A-Mart.

Last but not least, usually the first round never tells the story of a season, but this one was pretty spot on.

Leave a comment and give me your best Hot Takes!
