I’m sick and tired of carrying all the weight. The coaches and owners not giving me the shit I need to win. Vurb, you’re f****** out!
Slaw is only kidding. I’ll always be here for you with some fire ass bold predictions. Let’s review REEEEDDDBUUUUUDD and get into the sands of Southwick, shall we?
NONE of this would be possible without the folks at FLY Racing, who have stepped in to support Slaw and #slawnation couldn’t be happier. Visit www.flyracing.com and support those who support Slaw.
Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha’s Levi Kitchen will make his pro debut this weekend before returning to the AM ranks and racing Loretta’s. Speed WILL not be a problem for the Kitchen, but can he handle the nerves, etc? I think he can. Give this dude a start and he’s a shoe-in for a top 10 overall finish. LEAD SLAW LOCK OF THE WEEK.
If you can’t stand the heat, get out the Kitchen! In the first moto, Kitchen got ninth, just as I correctly predicted. But he followed it up with THREE crashes in the second moto. He still scored points with a 19th and finished 12th overall. Not too shabby. Now, he’ll return to the amateur ranks for Loretta’s, where he is a favorite for the Horizon Award.
Slawdiction: 5 out of 10.
Roczen lost the points lead after Ferrandis held off his furious charge in the second moto at High Point. I really like Ferrandis this weekend, but I like Kenny better. He takes the overall and reclaims the points lead heading into Southwick.
Man, Ferrandis is going to be a thorn in Kenny’s side all year, isn’t he? Dude is on rails, and going to a sand track, where I think he’ll be favored again.
Slawdiction: 0 out of 10.
Shimoda had a great first moto at High Point, claiming fourth. Then he got caught up in a pileup off the start in the second moto. Really loving what I’m seeing from Jo this year. I think an overall podium might be tough, but I do like him for a moto podium.
Damn, Jo was solid AF again, going 6-5. He just is a touch off the top few dudes, but I still feel on a podium is coming up for him.
Slawdiction: 0 out of 10.
WE FINALLY GOT ELI TOMAC BACK! That second 450 moto was pure Eli. He just ran away with that b****. I like for this to continue this weekend. Another overall podium for the three-time champ.
When you’re hot, you’re hot. Eli is back, baby! Not only did he get another overall podium, he added a moto win for extra Slaw! Soak it in, baby!
Slawdiction: 100 out of 10.
SUMMER OF SHOCK, BABY! This might be going out on a limb a bit, but this dude has been shredding all damn season, coming super close to a top 10 overall finish. It happens this weekend. Mark it!
OH MY GOD. SO CLOSE. Summer of Shock just missed out on a top 10 overall finish, getting 11th. I’m telling you, this dude WILL get a top 10 here soon.
Slawdiction: 11 out of 10.
Let’s move on to Southwick!
Ferrandis Goes 1-1
I for one did not expect Ferrandis to be this damn good. But, here we are. I know this isn’t a typical Slaw bold ass prediction, but whatever. It’s Slaw’s column, ya’ll just living in it. Anyway, I like Ferrandis to go 1-1 this weekend and extend his points lead over Roczen.
Craig Another Top 6 Overall
With the way Ferrandis and AP have been riding, Christian Craig is getting lost in the shuffle. Well, not anymore! After a solid fifth overall at RedBud, Craig will back it up this weekend with a top six finish. Stamp it!
A Local Gets a Top Ten
I don’t know who it will be. I don’t even know the class. But on of these NESC bad asses will score a top 10 moto finish. LEAD SLAW LOCK OF THE WEEK.
J-Mart Get’s an Overall Podium
If you read my fire blog from earlier this week, then you know Jeremy Martin is a damn cyborg or something. Dude is beat up, but still out there grinding away. I like him for an overall podium this weekend.
Donuts For Everyone
Jett snags the 250 overall and then slings out a dozen or so donuts for the locals!
