For what I believe is the fifth straight year (don’t fact check Slaw) Steve Matthes, he of PulpMX Hockey fame, wrangled all the animals on privateer island, put them in stadium with a ton of cash on the line and we all watched the chaos unfold. It was amazing and it streamed LIVE on the Vurbmoto YouTube channel (full show archive below if you missed it)!
A labor of love for everyone involved–except the riders of course–the race has provided massive payouts to the backbone of the sport. Held on Friday prior to the final round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship at Rice Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, UT, the race featured 22 privateers battling for two main events to take home some cold hard cash.
Won by Cade Clason, who announced his retirement from professional racing earlier that week, the event raised just over $80,000 that goes directly into the pockets of the privateers.
Massive congrats to Steve, Feld, Yamaha, Dirt Wurx, and the AMA officials for making this event happen. Also thanks to Kellen Brauer, Devin Simonson, Adam Enticknap, Jason Weigandt, and Jason Thomas for helping with the Vurbmoto produced broadcast.
With all of that said, let’s get to the meat of this story: How much dinero these boys made.
1) Cade Clason took home the win and a cool $23,650.
2) Kevin Moranz, who won the event in 2025, finished second and for his efforts took home $12,180.
3) In third was Freddie Noren who collected $9,570 for his efforts.
4) In all, the total purse was $87,000!!!!!!!
