Garrett Marchbanks Returns to Racing at Southwick

We’ve got another Muc-Off/FXR/ClubMX Yamaha rider returning to the gate this weekend at Southwick and it’s the Man Child, Garrett Marchbanks.

Marchbanks aggravated the same thumb injury he sustained at Nashville in his crash at the Fox Raceway media day.

Now he makes his return for round five at Southwick.

ClubMX Team Manager Mike Bonacci: The good news: Garrett Marchbanks will return to service. Remember him? You will on Saturday. Certainly, we should expect his race form and race endurance to take a few weeks to redevelop but he is still a top ten contender right out of the gate. We are all happy to have him back.

Garrett has been working hard to get back up to speed and will make his return to racing this weekend at Southwick. Sand, mud, hard pack, loam – whatever, Garrett is a fierce competitor. He does not care what type of track he makes his return to racing, he just wants to get back out there and mix it up with everyone. Like any other top athlete, it is hard to sit home and watch the sport on TV when you should be out there yourself. It is easy to be looked over and forgotten when you are absent simply because there is so much going on. Garrett’s return to racing will bring him back in the spotlight, so get your popcorn ready.

The ClubMX Team was hoping to have all four of their riders back on the gate this weekend at Southwick. Team captain Phil Nicoletti returned last weekend at High Point nursing his injured knee. But, this week the team suffered another blow when Coty Schock hurt his wrist in a practice crash on Monday and will be out for a while.

Marchbanks will be another name fighting for top ten finishes in the 450 class this summer, so it’s exciting to have him back.
