Cooper Webb Fined Following Anaheim 2

The penalty report seemed to take a bit longer to release this week following the Anaheim 2 Supercross. Following the race we knew that Anderson was docked a position in Main Event 3, which changed the overall podium.

However, we didn’t know that Cooper Webb was fined for refusing an interview on the broadcast. Holy Marshawn Lynch, this can happen!? Well, it just did.

Maybe at the next interview Coop can throw out a,”I’m just here, so I don’t get fined.”

These type of fines are common in stick and ball sports, but we think this is the first time it has happened in SX.

  1. I’m tired of the AMA and think we need a new governing body. The AMA seems to make bad decision after bad decisions and I’m tired of them and will not renew my membership ever again. I’ve watched this organization ruin riders careers and as far as I’m concerned they can go to hell!

  2. Can’t blame him, the broadcasting is getting a little stale. I like the broadcasting over on MAV TV at the Arenacross Series better.

  3. This is gonna jeep happening! Welcome to the conglomerate SMX!!! All of these boys are now owned by SMX! Should’ve left it alone!

  4. They don’t want anyone upsetting the narrative of Jettson winning its the story they want out there, and Webb still thanks everyone just like they made them do in lites class and Anderson only got hit because of his helmet yank on the Chosen One last weekend!!

  5. I’m fine with them fining him for this. It’s a requirement in every pro sport. Being accessible is part of being a pro athlete. It’s part of the contract.

  6. The Hell with The AMA anymore, Webb shouldn’t be penalized, with Anderson he didn’t make up anytime on anyone I through it was a safety thing going out at the end, he could’ve jump back in in the middle took a chance getting jump on

  7. He was clearly under the weather when he did the interview after the last race. Maybe he was spent to the point of not feeling up to conversing while swallowing some sugary sponsor drink.

  8. This is what happens when it becomes about money more than sport. The AMA is a terrible organization. I have been a member since 1977. Started as a proud member of the AMA and watched them go down hill in terrible ways for many yrs. I am so glad I am a life member because I would never give them a dime for what they do and have done. I only keep the card so I can participate in events that require it. They sold us out a long time ago and keep selling. I could go on and on but I am going to stop here.

  9. The interviews are so stupid, meaningless, and void of value. “How does it feel to…..” If you can’t ask questions that are worth asking, don’t interview.

  10. Why don’t they just list the sponsors in a graphic during the interview rather than embarrass the rider when he can’t remember them and bore the audience with the repetitiveness? Yes, they can include acknowledgments to their wife, parents, dog. and pet goldfish.

  11. I guess I’m confused with the fact AMA thinks they are God or whomever! I will no longer be renewing my membership. If a lot of people would stand up and do the same, their ego complex would chill! Seems the AMA has gone a little WOKE!!

  12. I agree the AMA has gone way overboard and its a real shame, the AMA used to be a respectable organization back in the 70’s when I was Racing Speedway and Motocross n SoCal.. There needs to be a new sanctioning body for motorcycle racing industry.

  14. If you watched the post race Coop gave an interview but was very sick and was lucky to finish the race !! Had a coughing fit after the interview ! And he looked pale.

  15. I pay for cable now i gotta pay to stream Supercross then the Riders are so Disrespectful to each other bunch of Rich Spoiled kids im 63 years old Still ride my dirtbike or Streetbike with RESPECT noone watches the podium anyways putting privateers with Factory Riders a Shame too Make it Fair for all the Riders

  16. The after race interviews suck anyway! All they do is thank all their sponsors! Boring!! Especially since I can see all their sponsors on their gear!!!:(

  17. That’s stupid.. I believe it’s their choice to do a interview or not! Getting fined on small stuff like this is dumb!

  18. There are so many stupid fines out of the AMA that I believe that the race officials get a commission for writing the fine.
