Burning Questions, Detroit: Will Mookie Turn His Season Around At Ford Field?

Welcome back to Burning Questions! This is a feature that I started writing more than 12 years ago. It went away and got lost in the shuffling around of the hectic edit calendar, but none of that matters now. We’re back! #HOME

We’ll use this as a hype piece for the upcoming race weekend. First up is Detroit, the season opener for the 250SX East Region, and it’s also the first domed football stadium of the year. The track will be tight and have a shorter lap time. Now, we’ve got plenty of questions heading into round five of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship, so let’s get to it!

Who is going to take the opening round victory in the east?

Triumph Factory Racing will make its anticipated debut this weekend, will the team impress at round 1?

Haiden Deegan was transparent about his wrist injury in the press conference. Will the injury play a factor in his racing this season?

Austin Forkner hasn’t been able to show his true potential the last couple of seasons due to injuries. Will he have a comeback season where he’s in the championship hunt?

Will we have another fine filled event due to #peegatepart2 with the time between the 250 class LCQ and main event?

Will we see our first two-time winner in the 450 class this weekend?

Malcolm Stewart is heading to the comfort of east coast dirt, will he turn his season around at Ford Field?

Who will leave Detroit as the points leaders in each class?

Will Kid Rock up to collaborate with Aaron Plessinger in opening ceremonies?

What do you think these answers will be? These are very big storylines to pay attention to this weekend and Detroit is going to be important in establishing the 450SX Championship. I’ll be back to revisit these when we have answers.
