Avery Long

With supercross wrapping up, I think Avery can take the title of Mini O’s SX King. The NSA Yamaha rider started off his week by securing a title in the 250 Pro Sport with a strong field finishing behind him. I’ve said before that if Avery can dial in his starts he will be a front runner. Well, his starts were pretty dang good. Starting towards the front and not having to fight through the pack he put himself in a great position for a title. In Long’s second race of the day, 250 A, he moved up a few positions into second where he put in a hard charge but ran out of time chasing Janik down. Open Pro Sport was the third race and Avery got a great start and never looked back. He led every lap taking home his second title of the week. Let’s see how he continues the rest of the week when we move to motocross.

Cobra Elite

Brett Bell and his team over at Cobra have their team looking like a full on pro factory team. They all have matching pit shirts, the bikes are all tricked out to the max, and when one of their riders is racing you will know it. The whole team comes out to cheer on their riders and help with whatever they need. Oh, they also get the results to back it up, as this team took home 16 top 10 finishes. I feel like these guys are gonna come out swinging in MX.

Jayce Wolfe

Jayce Wolfe wins the title in Mini SR 2. Jayce really came onto the scene this year with his performance at Loretta’s. Jayce then earned himself an invite to Chicago to race the SMX. Jayce put in a strong ride and was able to charge into the top 10 and go home with a 7th. After seeing his performance there, I knew this kid was primed for a breakout performance. Ponca came around and Wolfe struggled to find a rhythm. Fast forward to Mini O’s and Jayce finally put it on the top step, taking home a title in Mini Sr. 2. Wolfe struggled in his other classes, but will look to get his rhythm back in MX.

Jaydin Smart

While I don’t think SX had gone the way Jaydin had wanted, the kid still rode his ass off. Jaydin was fighting for the lead in all three of his classes, but mistakes kept him from taking home a title. While the mistakes happen, Smart never gave up. He fought back to finish on the podium in two classes and just missed the podium with a fourth in another. I was standing at the impound tent when Jaydin pulled off after his last main. You could tell he was not happy with his performance and expected more of himself. I think Smart will come out swinging in the outdoors portion of this week.

Jackson Vick

Jackson has been on a roll since Loretta’s. Jackson was able to secure a title in the 65 class at the Ranch. He later raced in the inaugural SMX round in Charlotte where he was able to take home the victory. Vick moved up to the 85 class and kept his win streak going. Jackson took home a title in the 85cc 9-11 and a second in the Limited class. Vick looks to keep his win streak going as we move outdoors.
