The AMA has released its post-race penalty report from Round 10 of Pro Motocross at Budds Creek, with Levi Kitchen and Jett Lawrence headlining a list of riders docked positions or assessed rider license points.
In the opening 250 moto, Kitchen was docked four positions after going outside the course markers off the start. The championship leader started from the inside and drifted well beyond the markers and into the grass, eventually crossing the line in 10th. The penalty dropped him to 14th in the official results.
It proved costly in an already tight title fight. Kitchen rebounded to finish second in Moto 2, but his 14-2 scores left him fifth overall. Cole Davies went 1-3 for second overall and claimed the red plate, leaving Kitchen 14 points back with only the season finale at Ironman remaining.
As for Jett, he was issued a one rider license point for “off track on start with no advantage gained” in the first 450 moto.
