Unquotables, Oakland Supercross: Things Riders DIDN’T Say After Round 2, Which Didn’t Happen

Round 2 of Monster Energy Supercross in Oakland got cancelled due to extreme weather. That doesn’t mean there wasn’t (fake) quotes from riders and other team members.

Nope. We got some juicy stuff!

Without further ado, these are things that definitely WERE NOT said by the riders or personnel after the second round of the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross Championship, but we all know they were thinking it.

Semi driver: “I actually get paid by the mile, so going from Tampa to Oakland to Dallas means I’m making more money than my rider.”

Justin Barcia: “Another week gone, and another week I’m not on AMA double-secret probation.”

Lime Time Haulage: “When we saw the weather, we started ringing FELD non-stop but for some reason they haven’t picked up our calls. In fact, they haven’t picked up since San Diego that one year. Weird.”

Arenacross promoter: “Please f****** rain again this week.”

Adam Cianciarulo: “A few more rounds like Oakland and I might make it through the whole season! #jokingnotjoking”

Eli Tomac: “I can’t fully talk about it, but my lawyers are fighting it out about whether my red plate bonus works per week or per round.”

Every. Single. Podcaster: “People actually prefer to just listen to people talk about SX, than watch it, so our numbers have gone through the roof.”

Ken Roczen: “Still haven’t stalled. Boom.”

Mitch Payton: “A much better round for the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki team this weekend.”

Shaun Simpson: “I was on holiday in Cali, but after I saw the forecast, I actually signed up for Oakland. I’m pretty disappointed it got postponed as I figured I could win the whole Superdupermotosupercross Championship of the World or something. Yeah, I don’t know how it works, either, but I could have won Oakland.”

Dylan Ferrandis: “Gives me another week to work on my starts.”

Last week’s winner of a FREE Vurb t-shirt. Zach hit us up at [email protected] and we will get you hooked up.

“Philthy- I qualified 21st, I am having a great time and I REALLY love California!”

Can you think of something another rider definitely DID NOT say? Good, comment below and we will give a free tee to a good comment!

  1. Riders Collectively: I’ve seen more of downpour of “squirting” water and slimy mud while being “behind” racing and hanging out with the “Track-Hoes” in my local district than what Oakland California is currently experiencing!
