Well, since we don’t have anything new to really talk about this weekend, we decided to get UBER creative and just give us some talking points. How’d we do it? By literally making up quotes the riders / industry said after Anaheim 1 last weekend.
Without further ado, these are things that definitely WEREN’T said by the riders or personnel after the first round of the 2023 Supercross Championship, but we all know they were thinking it….
Justin Barcia: “I knew if I didn’t crash, I would have won, because everyone is too scared to pass me… especially at the first round.”
Ricky Carmichael: “He’s in a must WIN situation.”
Ken Roczen: “I am sooooo glad I didn’t stall.”
Jett Lawrence: “I know everyone wants to see me on 450s instead of dominating 250s… which is why I released donuts.”
Leigh Diffey: “I’m not sure if we’re watching Supercross or Supermotocross, all I do know is that I’ve gotta call it a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!!!”
Dylan Ferrandis: “I’ve been working super-hard on my starts in the off-season. Unfortunately, it seems like everyone else has too.”
Cooper Webb: “I know all the media expected me to win, but I’m actually okay with a second place.”
Colt Nichols: “I’m not sure anyone actually realised I was racing this week, or even saw me in the race. But I came sixth!”
Austin Forker: “I’m slightly disappointed with how this race has turned out.”
Will Christien: “I didn’t actually speak to any riders or team managers this weekend, so I have nothing further to add.”
Dirtwurx: “Totally bummed that Oakland isn’t taking place, I always enjoy moving piles of slop around to join up with different piles of slop, to create one big pile of slop.”

Malcom Stewart. All the talk about how soft the dirt was, I will confirm it is not as soft as everyone implied. I’m sure a few others will agree.
Vince Friese. Even though I am racing the other coast, I still managed to slam into the other guy standing at the next urinal.
Philthy- I qualified 21st, I am having a great time and I REALLY love California!
Tomac. Ha! His knees buckled just like last time.
