Like Cooper Webb, I was way too fired up after Saturday to wait till the end of the week to drop MY GUTS Power Rankings.
After a lot of negativity following a muddy opener, Saturday was amazing. Battles, teammate beef, a first-time winner and so much more provided a great example of what these Playoffs can be. Sure, the venue probably wasn’t a great representation of what the Playoffs should encompass, but the racing was. And, to me, that is what matters most.
As always, I understand some will disagree with said Power Rankings, and I will absolutely take your objections into consideration. Please direct all complaints to [email protected].
Now, on to the ranks…
5: Cooper Webb
Anything to talk about here? I don’t want to pretend I know something that you all don’t. I don’t have insider knowledge of Haiden and Cooper’s relationship. On the outside, it seemed fine. But, seeing how Webb reacted Saturday, I think it is anything but. For us fans, it certainly makes for an entertaining finale.
4: Haiden Deegan
Wasn’t quite as good as he was at the opener, but still very solid. That second moto charge was incredible and he stayed in contention for the title with a 3-3 day. He’ll need help from Prado, but he has a chance at the finale.
3: Ken Roczen
We finally saw the long layoff negatively affect Kenny. After an incredible first moto, the intensity played a part in a fourth in the second moto, as Kenny mentioned in the post-race press conference.
“This is the first big effort I’ve done in a hot minute,” he said. “It’s tough to expect to come out and dominate two motos when you haven’t done that all summer.”
Kenny will need to dominate both motos at the finale if he wants to claim a second title in 2026, as he sits fourth in points, 18 back of Prado.
2: Hunter Lawrence
That was more of the Hunter everyone expected coming into the Playoffs. A fourth in the first moto hurt his chances for the overall, but a dominating performance in the second moto and he enters the finale 16 back of Prado. Even if he finishes first, he’ll need some help from Prado, as the points difference between first and second at the triple points paying finale is just nine. Hunter, like Deegan, would need to win and have Prado finish fourth or worse.
1: Jorge Prado
I don’t want to say I’m the only person that predicted this, but I’m the only person that I know that predicted this. Here is what I wrote prior to the Playoffs about Mister Prado:
I think people forget how much improved Prado was in Supercross this year. After a disastrous first year with Kawi, Prado was much, much better in 2026. He was setting fast laps, crushing whoops and enters second in points with 22 to Hunter’s 25. No whoops will hurt Prado, but don’t be surprised to see him win a race.
One thing that stuck out to me, and I think a lot of people have said this, was how Prado responded after getting passed. For much of the 2026 Supercross season, we would see Prado get passed and then drop anchor. Saturday was the opposite. He responded time and time again to pressure. What a ride. What a Playoffs so far. And what a far cry from where he was a year ago.
I don’t think anyone forecasted Prado leading by 16 heading into the finale, but here we are.
