Jason Anderson will “try to line” up this weekend for the second round of the SMX World Championship Playoffs at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles, CA, this Saturday, the H.E.P Motorsports Suzuki team announced on Thursday.
At the opening round last weekend in Columbus, Anderson injured his wrist in the second moto when Malcolm Stewart inadvertently landed on him over a jump. Anderson immediately grabbed his wrist and was helped off the track by Stewart but did not continue the race.
In his first race back in SMX since prior to Daytona Supercross, Anderson finished fifth in the first moto before the DNF in moto two.
Earlier this year, the team announced that Anderson would “be stepping away from Supercross competition for an indefinite period to address personal, family, and ongoing medical matters.”
The defending champion in the FIM World Supercross Championship, Anderson returned for the Canadian Grand Prix opener in Calgary in early August and finished 11th.
