Triumph Factory Racing Confirms Hand Fracture for Austin Forkner

Triumph Factory Racing announced on Monday that Austin Forkner sustained a fracture to his left hand and will be placed in a cast for the next two weeks following a crash in press day on Friday ahead of round 4 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship in Houston.

“After his fall during Press Day, the Missouri native sustained a fracture to his left hand and will be placed in a cast for the next two weeks” the team said. “The injury will be assessed on a week-by-week basis moving forward.”

This likely spells the end of Forkner’s time in the 450 Class, as it was announced prior to the season that he would contest the 450 division “for at least the first six rounds before focusing on the 250SX East Division.”

Forkner also missed round 2 in San Diego due to a crash in qualifying. In his first three races since moving up to the 450SX Class as a fill-in for the injured Jordon Smith, Forkner has made two of three main events with finishes of 15-17.

The 250SX East Division kicks off Feb 21 in Arlington, Texas.
