Steve Matthes Dropped a Silly Season Bomb on Twitter Last Night

Slaw was just cruising the Twitterphere last night, looking to get in some mind changing political arguments, when I ran across this Steve Matthes Silly Season News ATOMIC BOMB!

Soooo word on the street is Tomac going to Yamaha next year, wow. I had heard he had agreed to 2 more at Kawi but I guess it didn't get officially done. That's gonna be weird… #BLUCRU

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL…..

This news come out of NO WHERE, so Slaw ain’t dialed in on this, but Steve is usually pretty accurate with this kind of stuff. If this is true, what a huge shakeup this would be.

Tomac joined Kawasaki in 2016 and has been the face of that team for the last six years, racking up three straight Lucas Oil Pro Motocross titles (2017-2019) and the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross Championship.

Dylan Ferrandis is apparently already locked in with Star Racing for next year and rumors are that Aaron Plessinger is headed to Red Bull KTM, which means Tomac would be filling his spot.

This is the biggest silly season news Slaw has seen since Roczen signed with Honda… IF it happens.

Anyone else have mid-80’s to 90’s Honda vibes with this. Yamaha forking out the money to try and be the top dogs in both classes.

If you remember it took him some time to gel with the Kawi. He’s strong maybe he can tame the blue beast.
