Justin Barcia Inks New Deal with TLD/Red Bull/GasGas

Justin Barcia isn’t going anywhere. At the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/GasGas Factory Racing team intro in California last week it was announced Barcia has signed an extension that will keep him with the team through the 2023 season.

The Spanish motorcycle brand specialized in trials machines but was bought by the KTM Group in 2019 and brought under the KTM Group umbrella, which also includes the Husqvarna brand.

The Troy Lee Designs team was tasked with bringing the brand into its first season in AMA Supercross and Motocross and their first big signing was Barcia, who delivered the team with its first win at the Monster Energy Supercross season opener in 2021.

Barcia finished fourth in the 450SX standings with four total podiums on the season and won the Spring Creek National in Pro Motocross behind 1-2 moto finishes. He finished the series ninth in points after racing only 7 of 12 rounds.

“I tried to get a lifetime contract, but they weren’t sure about that,” he said. “We’re extended and like I said, this is where I’m going to end my career.”
