Slawdictions for Spring Creek: Tomac Figures Out His First Moto Blues

Note: Yes, I am reusing the same intro from last week. It’s just too damn good to be let go this early.

I’m sick and tired of carrying all the weight. The coaches and owners not giving me the shit I need to win. Vurb, you’re f****** out!

Slaw is only kidding. I’ll always be here for you with some fire ass bold predictions. Let’s review Southwick and get into Spring Creek, shall we?

NONE of this would be possible without the folks at FLY Racing, who have stepped in to support Slaw and #slawnation couldn’t be happier. Visit www.flyracing.com and support those who support Slaw.

Prediction

I for one did not expect Ferrandis to be this damn good. But, here we are. I know this isn’t a typical Slaw bold ass prediction, but whatever. It’s Slaw’s column, ya’ll just living in it. Anyway, I like Ferrandis to go 1-1 this weekend and extend his points lead over Roczen.

Yeah, yeah, he didn’t go 1-1. But, guess what he did do? Went 1-3 for the OVERALL and EXTENDED his points lead. I’ll take that as a win.

Slawdiction: 18 out of 10.

Prediction

With the way Ferrandis and AP have been riding, Christian Craig is getting lost in the shuffle. Well, not anymore! After a solid fifth overall at RedBud, Craig will back it up this weekend with a top six finish. Stamp it!

Yeah, not a great week for Craig. What you gonna do? No Slaw for the Craig family!

Slawdiction: 0 out of 10.

Prediction

I don’t know who it will be. I don’t even know the class. But on of these NESC bad asses will score a top 10 moto finish. LEAD SLAW LOCK OF THE WEEK.

He didn’t get a top 10, but HOT DAMN Chris Canning put on a show, going 14-14 for 14th overall. I have no clue what his program is like this year, but dude just showed up out of nowhere and get a top 15 AT A NATIONAL. Props.

Slawdiction: 14 out of 10.

Prediction

If you read my fire blog from earlier this week, then you know Jeremy Martin is a damn cyborg or something. Dude is beat up, but still out there grinding away. I like him for an overall podium this weekend.

Poor, J-Mart. Dude just can’t catch a break.

Slawdiction: 0 out of 10.

Prediction

Jett snags the 250 overall and then slings out a dozen or so donuts for the locals!

No donuts were slung. I picked the wrong Lawrence. In other news, #slawnation has been taking over Lawrence for best signage.

Slawdiction: 5 out of 10. Hey, I picked A Lawrence to win.

On to Spring Creek we go.

Tomac Figures Out His First Moto

I have no clue what is going on with Eli Tomac in the first moto. Apparently he doesn’t either. “The second moto has been great,” he said after Southwick. “I look back at the last three weeks and I’m just like, “What’s going on in moto one?” I haven’t totally figured it out yet, other than maybe it’s a little bit of start position for the past two weeks. But this week there was no excuse. I started almost in the same spot in moto two and was able to come through people.”

Whatever the h e double hockey stick is going on with Eli, it changes this weekend. He podiums in moto one.

Hampshire Doesn’t Crash, Wins the Overall

RJ Hampshire has been so damn fast the last few weeks. But, he’s been killed by mistakes. It didn’t matter at RedBud, as he still won the overall, but they cost him dearly at Southwick. No mas, doggies. He figures it out at Spring Creek, doesn’t crash and wins the overall. STAMP IT.

Top Ten for Ty

Can we talk about Ty Masterpool? Dude has been rock solid on a damn privateer bike, which is HUGE in the 250 Class outdoors. He went 12-12 for 12th overall last weekend, but I like him for a top 10 at Spring Creek.

Another Top Five for Cooper

The Monster Energy Supercross champion finally, kind of, broke out of his early season slump last weekend at Southwick for a top five finish. It was his best result of the season, which is very strange to say. Either way, I like for Webb to get another top five this weekend.

Schwartz Bounces Back

After back-to-back ninth place overall finishes at Thunder Valley and High Point, it’s been a struggle for rookie Dilan Schwartz, as he’s gone 19-22 at RedBud and Southwick. That ain’t happening this weekend. He sneaks back into the top ten…. at least in one moto.
