RIP Alex Harvill

Terrible news has hit our community. We are saddened to report the passing of long distance jumper Alex Harvill. He was just 28.

Harvill passed on Thursday due to injuries sustained after a crash during his warm-up jump at the Moses Lake Airshow in Moses Lake, Washington. Harvill was attempting to break the Guinness World Record of longest motorcycle ramp jump (351 ft) held by Robbie Maddison, who set the record in 2008.

The Washington native was an accomplished long distance jumper, who holds the Guinness World Record for longest dirt to dirt motorcycle ramp jump (297 ft 6.6 in), which he accomplished in Richland, Washington in 2013.

No only was Harvill a prolific long distance jumper, he also competed professionally from time to time in Monster Energy Supercross, Lucas Oil Pro Motocross and the Canadian Nationals.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the Harvill family with all funds going to support his family. Please click here for more information.

Everyone here at Vurb offers our sincere condolences to the Harvill family during this difficult time.
