Welcome back to Power Rankings and a very special edition.
As a 20-time AMA Media Member of the Year nominee I have found that often times, you have to go right while others go left. Or left when others go right. Or middle when some go right and left. So, while others will be ranking riders following round 2 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross from San Diego, I will not.
Nope. I will be ranking MY favorite kits. While I know lit kits and fashion can be subjective, many have compared me to a young Ralph Lauren (is that still cool? Was it ever?)— a guy who just knows what style is.
I have held that very high on my list of things I excel at, so I decided why not share it with the world.
As always, thanks to GUTS for sponsoring this feature and send all hate mail to Weege.
1: Justin Cooper
Yes, O’Neal ran this gear last year, but why change what ain’t broken? Bright, in your face, throwback to the ‘90s, this gear pops. No 1 from the weekend if you ask me.
2: Pro Circuit Kawasaki
The complete opposite from the O’Neal line. Fox has always been clean, and this setup is no different. The black and purple pop with the green PC machine.
3: Ken Roczen
Yes, very similar to what PC was wearing, but man, I’m a sucker for that black and yellow look. Side note: Is Roczen one of the best dressed riders in recent memory? His stuff always hits.
4: Jason Anderson
Red and yellow isn’t black and yellow, but man, JA and AStars hit a home run here.
T-5: Chase Sexton and Brixton Williams
We have a tie for fifth. Usually I’m not a huge fan of purple, but like the PC Fox kit, I really liked how Sexton’s purple AStars gear blended with the Kawi green.
Vurb finally has made SUPERCROSS! Wes Williams’ son, Brixton, got to race the STACYC Challenge in SD and I must say: his kit was straight fire. Mom must have dressed him.
He even got a shout out on the broadcast from the GOAT, Ricky Carmichael. Thankfully our fearless leader Wes Williams was wearing a Bass Pro Shop hat and not one of the 3 million Vurb hats currently in his closest. The man knows branding, that’s for sure.
