3 Things To Watch Today At Loretta’s | Thursday

65cc (10-11)

There’s just something familiar about the way Yumena Berning attacks the track.

Make sure you tune into this moto and tell me she doesn’t remind you of Eli Tomac, aka “The Shark. She’s cool, calm, calculated, and she’s even got a little bit of that signature head bob entering the corners that Tomac is famous for.

I’m thinking we should start calling her “Lil Shark.”

The way she stalks the riders in front of her before picking them off one by one looks almost effortless.

I don’t want to take anything away from Ryder Annison, he had an excellent ride yesterday, but if Berning can clean up a couple of the mistakes she made yesterday, I wouldn’t be surprised one bit to see her standing on the top step today.

Schoolboy 2

In case you missed it yesterday, Tristan Pruitt and Ryder Skodras had everyone on the edge of their seats. It was one of the best battles of the entire day.

However, unless you were standing at the finish line or watching the livestream all the way through, you may have missed what happened after the checkered flag.

Pruitt had a little somethin’ somethin’ for Skodras.

He hit him with the ol’ LeBron James “silencer” gesture, the universal sign for, “stay down.”

Now, I can always appreciate a little smack talk. Racing needs personalities. But I’m not so sure Skodras appreciated it the same way.

So we’ll see if there are a few extra sparks flying today. And if those two get too wrapped up racing each other… will Dane Pappas, Kannon Hargrove, or Tanner Dorman be there to capitalize?

Micro 3

I’ve got to give this kid a shoutout.

Robert Fender, better known as “Fender the Sender.”

It absolutely blows my mind what these kids can do on a 50cc bike with an automatic clutch. I’ve been high on this kid all week.

Speed is obviously important in racing, but what stands out to me is the way Fender throws his bike around. He’ll put it anywhere he wants on the track without a second thought.

He reminds me of a mini version of Cole Davies, not only his riding style but his charisma.

The kid has absolutely no fear.

If you want to see just how hard someone can push a Cobra 50, make sure you tune into this race. It might just make you rethink what a 50cc motorcycle is capable of.
