We will see a fresh face at the 2025 AMA Pro Motocross season opener this Saturday at Fox Raceway.
It was confirmed over the weekend that long-time MXGP rider Benoit Paturel has signed with HEP Suzuki to contest the entire championship in the 450 Class.
“So happy to sign with @hepmotorsports for the Outdoor Season 🇺🇸,” Paturel wrote on social. “Can’t describe this feeling, I can’t wait to start next weekend.”
Who Is Benoit Paturel?
Age: 30
Hometown: Lyon, France
Debut MX2 Season: 2015
Debut MXGP Season: 2018
Paturel has spent the better part of a decade competing at the highest level of the FIM Motocross World Championship. After making his full-time MX2 debut in 2015, the Frenchman’s career defining season came in 2016 when he finished third overall in the final championship standings and was a late call-up for Team France at the Motocross of Nations, which the French won by a single point over The Netherlands.
In 2017, he won his first career World Championship moto at the French Grand Prix in front of a home crowd and added an overall Grand Prix victory later that year in Switzerland. Since moving up to MXGP in 2018, he hasn’t found the same success and finished 16th in the final standings in 2024, which was highlighted by three top-10 moto finishes.
Paturel was initially planning on racing the few couple rounds of the Pro Motocross season as a privateer before inking a late deal with HEP Suzuki.
