The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame has announced the 17 nominees for its Class of 2025, with two-time 450SX Champion and 2009 AMA Pro Motocross 450 Champion Chad Reed earning a nomination for the first time in his legendary career.
The Australian amassed 61 career AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross wins, claiming titles in 125SX East (2002), 450SX (2004, 2008), and 450 AMA Pro Motocross (2009). With 44 Supercross main event wins—fifth on the all-time list—Reed also holds the records for most AMA Supercross Main Event starts (265) and podium finishes (132).
Reed’s first full season in the U.S. came in 2002, and over the next two decades, he battled the sport’s all-time greats—Carmichael, Stewart, and more—cementing his place as one of the most respected and popular riders in the paddock before racing for the final time in the U.S. at the 2020 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season finale in Salt Lake City, Utah.
After his retirement in the US, Reed raced in the 2021 FIM World Supercross Championship in the series inaugural year.
“The nominees for the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Class of 2025 are an outstanding group of people who have made a lifelong commitment to motorcycling and the motorcycle community,” said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. “These individuals have played an instrumental role in the growth of motorcycling—whether through racing excellence, mechanical innovation, advocacy, or support roles. This is an extraordinary group, and we are proud to recognize them as nominees.”
Voting closes Monday, June 16 at 11:59 p.m. Eligible voters include previous Hall of Fame inductees, AMA and AMHF Board members, Category Selection Committee members, and AMA Life Members. Life Members should ensure their contact information is up to date to receive voting details.
Results will be announced shortly after voting concludes. The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, October 23, in Pickerington, Ohio.
