Most Likely is such a banger that our friends at Michelin have already jumped on board! So, go buy some new tires for your entire lineup!

Each week, Slaw, Troy, and sometimes Denny Stephenson will come up with some topics and then list the riders most likely to accomplish those feats. Hence the title “Most Likely”. Most would call us brilliant.

Which team is most likely to win the Motocross of Nations?

T-Dog: I’m going with Team Australia on this one. This is the year that Hunter Lawrence has risen to a new level and Kyle Webster is no slouch either. The team also has the best rider in the world on it right now. Team Aus gets it done.

DBO: I have the Netherlands winning. They are STACKED. Herlings, the Hoff & the current MX2 World Champ. Most of the media is totally missing them. Fools I say. Fools!

Slaw: France. I’ve talked about this a million times already, but until someone knocks them off in Europe, I’m sticking with the defending champions.

If the above question isn’t Team USA, then what place will they most likely get?

T-Dog: I think Team USA will finish third overall, which is perfectly fine. Tomac, Webb, and Plessinger could potentially win it all, but Team Aus, France, and The Netherlands are going to be tough as well!

DBO: I’m with Slaw. I have them around fourth as well.

Slaw: As I wrote earlier this week, I think they get fourth behind France, Australia and The Netherlands.

Which team is most likely to surprise the most with their result?

T-Dog: I’ll go with Team Switzerland. Jeremy Seewer, Arnaud Tonus, and Valentin Guillod could be quite sneaky.

DBO: I’m not going to try & reinvent the wheel here like Australia. (they switched Jett to Open & Hunter to MXGP) Slaw is on a roll. The Spaniards have a great team. Obviously the World Champ in Prado. Fernandez has been hurt most of the season. But has returned to racing with majority of his speed. And their MX2 rider in Oliver Oriol had a very solid MX2 season with multiple top 10 moto finishes.

Slaw: As I wrote earlier this week, I’m going with Spain. They have two great 450 riders in Prado and Fernandez and if they can get a decent result out of their MX2 teammate, they could podium.

Which MXoN legend will most likely have the best result Martin Barr, Tanel Leok, or Max Nagl?

T-Dog: Each one of these guys has to be in their mid-fifties, right? I’m kidding, however it’s quite impressive that they come back each year for their countries. I’ll go with Tanel Leok. Somehow, someway he will finish in a top five and get the job done.

DBO: Max Nagl is making 16th return to the Motocross des Nations (it will FOREVER be des not of) for Team Germany. What an animal. I will be going with Nagl.

Slaw: I’ll go Leok. This is his 400th straight MXoN and somehow, someway on Sunday we will be talking about him and the small nation of Estonia.

Which rider will most likely win the MX1 class overall?

T-Dog: Jorge Prado is going to put on a show this weekend.

DBO: Prado will have his last & final weekend on the GasGas. The brand he won two MXGP titles on. I have to believe he wants to show the World he is the best & give his dirt bike team & country of Spain the victory.

Slaw: Prado. Dude is on a roll this year and he knows he needs to win for Spain to have a chance. And Jett is racing Open.

Which rider will most likely win the MX2 overall?

T-Dog: It would be so sick to see Cooper Webb come out and dominate wouldn’t it? That would put him as one of the best ever rides at this event. However, I have to go with MX2 MXGP Champion Kay de Wolf.

DBO: I got Lucas Coenen going balls to the wall for the MX2 overall. And if you’ve been watching any of the GPs this season. You know exactly what I am talking about. Remember Stew on a KX125? Well this is his reincarnation on a Husky 250. Checkers or Wreckerz for the young Belgian. USA in his near future as well.

Slaw: Kay de Wolf. If you don’t know the name, get used to it. He just won the MX2 World Championship and could help deliver the Dutch only its second overall win at the event.

Which rider will most likely win the Open overall?

T-Dog: Jettson. Hunter and Jett Switched classes yesterday and the internet is freaking out. I don’t understand the big deal. Each class matters and Hunter is a great choice for MX1 as well. What’s the issue?

DBO: Last change of plans have Jett now racing the Open class instead of brother Hunter. Personally, I think, a decision which has destroyed their chances of winning 24MXdN. Jett will easily win.

Slaw: Jett Lawrence. Apparently he changed to Open and yeah, he’s going to win that class.

Where does the Motocross of Nations most likely rank on importance for you as an event?

T-Dog: It used to be my favorite event and maye we can get there again. This year’s team proved to me that their is still hope for riders who want to go and race. In years past the riders not wanting to go has taken the fun away from the event for me. It’s still important to me, but I’m not going to wake up at 5AM to watch it.

DBO: It is single handedly the biggest & greatest race of the year. And its not even close. Period.

Slaw: It’s the second best event of the year behind Anaheim 1.

  1. I mean, I won’t very against Australia, France, it Spain. But, I do like the chances of the US team. Webb may not be great outdoors on a 450. But, he’s been better on a 250. And, the man’s a dog. Tomac obviously still has it, and AP as a #2 is better than most other #2s.

If it were Sexton, Tomac, and any one if Deegan, Hymas, or even Webb, US would be my favorite. But, the team is still in this. Though, not the favorite.
