Star Racing Almost Didn’t Survive, Now Have the Biggest Team

Pop around the interweb and you’re bound to stumble on some jokes about how big the Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha team is in 2021. Slaw likes him some jokes, so I have quite enjoyed these.

In all seriousness though, look at this TEAM INTRO SHOOT!!! MY GOD! IT LOOKS LIKE THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS STARING DEFENSE.

To my point: The Weege has a good article over on Racer X about the team and its owner Bobby Regan. Go read it.

This quote in particular really stuck out to me. When supercross was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it almost shut down the entire operation, according to Regan.

“It almost ended us. Just like everyone else, sponsors had to stop paying, and we didn’t know what we were going to do.”

Now they have the biggest team I’ve ever seen. Good for them.

New Signings

Phoenix Honda Racing has finalized its squad for 2021, announcing the signings of Enzo Lopes and Josh Osby, who will join holdover Kyle Peters, the defending Kicker Arenacross Champion. Mason Gonzales is also on the team, but was recently injured in a practice crash.
