Lommel at Risk of Being Shutdown

Lommel, one of the most iconic tracks in Europe, is at risk of being shutdown, according to the tracks Instagram.

According to the track, local politicians in Belgium are wanting to reduce noise pollution at the track and are proposing only 20 riders allowed a day at 94 decibels for bikes, which the track owners say they won’t be able to continue to operate if that happens.

Here is the full post from the track:

“Politician zuhal demir wants new regulations to reduce the noise pollution at lommel track . they gave the choise to reduce the noise but if the track has to follow the rules (only 20 riders a day on ALL tracks including kids , 94 decibel for the bikes , less track time , decibel controle at the gate and on track , less days to ride ect ect ….) IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO KEEP THE TRACK ALIVE ! in other words they are killing the track with their rules”

There is a way you can help. On Zuhal Demir’s website there is an option to send messages. The circuit owners are urging everyone to head there and make the track’s prominence known.

KEEP THE MESSAGES CLEAN, PEOPLE! Yelling and name calling won’t help the tracks case.

Share this to help keep Lommel alive and running!
