The breakout star of Pro Motocross in the 250 Class this summer has undoubtedly been AEO Powersports KTM’s Carson Mumford.
After years of injuries, the former GEICO Honda recruit finally showed the form many expected coming out of the amateur ranks. After a solid start to the season with three top-10 overall finishes in the first six rounds, Mumford broke through with consecutive top-five overall finishes, including back-to-back fourth-place finishes, heading into Round 10 at Budds Creek.
Mumford’s hot streak continued at Budds Creek with a fourth in the first moto. Early in the second moto, however, Mumford was involved in a crash with another rider. He released an update this week announcing that he suffered a dislocated wrist and will miss the remainder of the 2026 season.
“Not the post I want to be making but here we are. Another rider took me out on the first lap of moto 2 which ended up dislocating my wrist. I have surgery on Friday and a long road of recovery ahead of me, I’ve done it before and I know I can do it again. I’m confident in my circle and team that I’ll be back swinging next year.
“This year I rode for free with one goal in mind. To prove I was a top level guy again, in hopes to extend my career. I achieved that goal this mx season by finishing top 5 consecutively the last 6 motos – with two moto podiums.

Mumford, currently seventh in the 250 Class standings, announced an extension with AEO KTM earlier this year and will return to the team in 2027.
