Joey Savatgy Injury Update Following Indianapolis Supercross

Quad Lock Honda’s Joey Savatgy has released an update following his scary crash at round nine of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship in Indianapolis on Saturday.

Midway through the 450SX main event, Savatgy crashed hard in the rhythm lane and went over the bars and slammed into the face of the next obstacle.

He was attended to by the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit before being transferred to the hospital.

On Sunday, Savatgy provided an update on Instagram:

“Not really the way I wanted to spend my Sunday,” Savatgy wrote on Instagram. “[I’m] bummed, had a good night going and felt like I hit the same line as the laps prior. But clearly I made a mistake or something. Punctured lung and some broken ribs, [the] weekend off came at a good time.”

A recovery timeline is not yet known. After nine rounds, Savatgy is currently 13th in the overall standings, with a season-best finish of seventh in Tampa.
