Quad Lock Honda’s Carson Mumford appears to have escaped serious injury after exiting the third 250SX East Division race of the Triple Crown at Birmingham Supercross on Saturday.
On Sunday, Mumford posted on his Instagram story that his X-rays came back “fine” and he thinks he sustained a bad bone bruise on his “ankle or fib.”
Mumford, who entered the 2025 season coming off a serious leg injury, was enjoying one of the best races of his career on Saturday. After qualifying third, Mumford started the Triple Crown with 5-4 finishes before having to exit the third race.
Despite being credited with 21st in the final race, Mumford still finished 11th overall on the night.
“I was feeling great all day, riding just like I do every day at the practice track,” he said per the Quad Lock Honda team. “I knew our hard work was going to show, and it really was all day. Unfortunately, I went down at the start of the last main and my leg got run over. The X-rays came back good, and it looks like just a sprained ankle.”
The good news for Mumford? The East Division is off next weekend and will return April 5 in Foxborough.
