Quad Lock Honda’s Joey Savatgy provided an update Sunday on his injury following a qualifying crash at round 16 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross in Denver, CO on Saturday.
In the first 450SX qualifying session, Savatgy attempted to launch a big double out of a left-hander and he didn’t quite make it and went down hard. The session was red flagged as Savatgy eventually left the track in the Alpinestars Medical Mule with his right arm in a sling.
On his social media on Sunday, Savatgy said he sustained a dislocated wrist in the crash but scans at the medical unit and hospital showed nothing was broken.
“Tough day at the office yesterday. Had a big one in qualifying that left me with a dislocated wrist. Scans at the medical unit and hospital showed nothing broken. I’ll have another scan this week, fingers crossed everything checks out.”
Prior to his injury, Savatgy was enjoying a career year in 450SX. Through 15 rounds he four top 5 finishes, including a season-high fourth coming at a muddy Philadelphia SX the weekend prior.
We will provide more as its is known.
