Jason Anderson Thanks Bobby Hewitt: “We Accomplished Some Amazing Things”

Since turning professional in 2011, Jason Anderson has spent his entire career with one team and one owner/manager—Bobby Hewitt.

Although the team switched from Suzuki to KTM to Husqvarna, Anderson was a mainstay under Hewitt. He was the team’s first high profile amateur signing in 2011, and although Hewitt briefly benched him for a time during his rookie year, he’s stuck with the laid-back New Mexico native.

Anderson rewarded Hewitt’s patience, first with a 250SX West Region title in 2014 and then a 450SX Monster Energy Supercross title in 2018 (both firsts for the team). After it was announced yesterday that after more than five years Husqvarna and Hewitt were parting ways effectively immediately, Anderson took to Instagram to thank his longtime team owner/manager.

“Just wanted to say thanks to @bbhewitt for everything he has ever done for me,” he wrote. “I would never have had a career like I have had if it wasn’t for him. I can honestly say he wasn’t my boss he was my family. I’m sad he won’t be in our semi but I know it’s not the last time I’ll see him at the races???? thanks for the most incredible 10 years BOB! We accomplished some amazing things.”
