Hunter Yoder Signs Deal with Phoenix Racing Honda

When GEICO Honda closed it’s doors last year, it sucked on multiple levels. A long-established team was leaving the pits and a host of riders, mechanics, etc. were out of jobs.

Luckily, all the pro riders found landing spots. Jeremy Martin and Christian Craig went to Star Racing, the Lawrence bros went to Honda HRC, Jo Shimoda moved to Pro Circuit and Carson Mumford went to Michael Lindsey’s Honda team.

One rider that we weren’t sure about was GEICO/ Factory Connection amateur standout Hunter Yoder.

Well, it looks like Yoder has landed a new deal, as the Phoenix Racing Honda team announced yesterday that had signed the California native and he will debut at RCSX this weekend.

Yoder, who missed Loretta’s this year due to COVID-19 concerns, earned one of his two titles at the Ranch with the Factory Connection Honda team in 2019, winning 450 B Limited.

“Super stoked to finally announce that I will be riding for @phxracinghonda for the 2021 season,” Hunter wrote on Instagram. “I would like to thank everyone that helped me get this deal done and especially David Eller for giving me this opportunity. I would also like to thank all my sponsors that helped me out through my whole amateur career. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am today. Can’t wait to go racing! See you guys at Daytona!”
