Haiden Deegan Penalized Following Birmingham Main Event

What a wild day for Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha’s Haiden Deegan, eh? We’ve just learned that Deegan was penalized two positions following the Birmingham Main Event.

Deegan made a pass on Coty Schock in the last turn of the race that credited him with 7th on the evening. Things got heated between the two after the race and we’ve now learned that Schock’s collarbone (originally injured at Daytona) took another hit and it may actually be too broken to continue racing this season.

That move was not the reason for Deegan’s penalization. He was penalized from his off track excursion on the first lap of the main event for “gaining an advantage while off track”. This just adds to the drama of Deegan’s day that started off with a crash in practice…

…then drama on the start of Heat 1 with Seth Hammaker…

One thing that is for sure is that wherever Deegan goes he keeps it interesting. He currently sits sixth in the 250SX East Region standings and only 12 points back of red plate holder Tom Vialle.
