  1. I was there. I am gutted for Eli. I dont know what else to say. Super bummed. This was Eli’s championship.

  2. I met thus guy when he was with Geico Honda. My kid and I were at Milestone in CA. We are from WA state and he came rolling in with his practice bike in the back of the Tescandito Toyota. We wondered over there and Eli spent 20 min. talking with my son…..where you from? How’s your amateur career going? How do you like the tracks in CA? Eli was a true professional, never making us feel like we were bothering him or hampering his training program, which we were! From that day forward we have rooted for this guy. Eli…..I’m heartbroken for you and truly hope to see you return! What a great ambassador for the sport!

  3. Heartbreaking on many levels! Eli is definitely the best rider with a solid career! It’s just not the same without him on the track!! Hoping for a smooth and effective recovery! Hang in there man!

  4. Unfortunately folks this is a rupture, not a strain sprain. Which means your gastroc muscle (calf) is not connected to your foot anymore. You cannot downshift or stand on your toes. It is a surgical necessity to reattach. Comeback for an athlete is 1 full year. His surgeons will recommend not riding for 4 – 6 months.

  5. Man Eli im Super Bummed you will always be my Legend i pray that you heal quickly and will be able to ride the Outdoors. I think i cried a bucket full of Tears you worked so hard for this Championship and now its handed to Chase sexton man i wasnt expecting this. All the Pro leaders are out now. Well if your reading Champ i love you and looking forward to seeing you again soon.
