Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing’s Daxton Bennick returned to riding on Monday after missing the opening five rounds of the Pro Motocross Championship.

The second-year pro has been out of action since a hard crash at the Philadelphia round of Monster Energy AMA Supercross in April, where he sustained a compression fracture in his back and a concussion.

“Wanted to give you guys an update—I won’t be racing the first couple rounds of outdoors to make sure I make a full recovery before racing again. I have been doing everything I can right now to heal up. I’m excited to get back to @starracingyamaha and start training again soon. Thank you to everyone in my corner,” Bennick wrote prior to the start of the series.

The concussion sustained in Philadelphia was his second of the year, as he previously missed time following a practice crash that resulted in a concussion ahead of Round 2 of the 250SX East Division in Detroit.

“I’ve been waiting to make this post. I’m back on the bike today! I’m excited to get back to doing what I love,” said Bennick in a team social post.

At this time, it remains unclear when Bennick will return to racing.
