Takes: Star Racing Injury Report | Who’s Back and Who’s Still Out

Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA, is proud to announce an extensive update to its industry-leading flagship Motocross model, the new 2026 YZ450F. Faced with the complex challenge of improving on a bike already widely considered the benchmark of the ultra-competitive 450cc four-stroke class, Yamaha engineers put significant focus into refining power delivery and handling performance to achieve a level of precision, control and tuneability that sets a new class standard: the easiest bike to ride fast. Learn more!

Aside from Haiden Deegan running away with another 250 Pro Motocross Championship, it has been a tough summer for Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing.

The injury bug bit them hard in Monster Energy Supercross and veterans Max Anstie and Pierce Brown have missed the opening eight rounds of the Pro Motocross Championship. Add in injuries to young stars Daxton Bennick, Cole Davies and Kayden Minear, and yeah, it hasn’t exactly been roses for Star.

That doesn’t even bring into equation the Jeremy Martin injury—although that had a storybook ending.

This weekend, though, Star gets some much needed—dare I say—Star power back (I’ll see myself out).

Brown, who we haven’t seen since his violent crash in Tampa when he suffered a fracture to his T5 vertebra, will make his 2025 Pro Motocross debut. In addition, Dax Bennick, who has been out since Philadelphia due to a concussion, also returns. Also, the teams amateur rider, Caden Dudney, who missed Loretta’s last week, is back for the SMX Next race on Friday.

Both Max Anstie and Cole Davies are back riding, but won’t be racing this weekend. Official return dates haven’t been announced for either.

Finally, Kayden Minear, who underwent surgery to address a torn UCL, will miss the remainder of Pro Motocross. He is expected back for the amateur classes in SMX Playoffs.
