Cooper Webb Will Race in Indianapolis

Defending Monster Energy AMA Supercross champion Cooper Webb will race this weekend at round 11 in Indianapolis.

According to Racer X, Webb sustained a small hairline fracture in his hand and has extensive bruising after getting landed on by Chase Sexton in a crash last weekend in Detroit. He’s been riding during the week and plans on racing in Indianapolis.

Update: Webb provided the following update on his Instagram:

“Quick update for you guys. Ended up with a bone contusion to the shoulder and fracture of the 2nd metacarpal. Overall I got off easy. I get paid to race, so I’ll see you in Indy.”

Late in the race in Detroit, Webb misjudged a rhythm section and Sexton, with no where to go, landed directly on Webb. Both went down hard and Sexton was not able to continue. Webb did remount and did a few laps but wasn’t able to use his left hand. He went around the whoops on a number of laps and we’ve heard an AMA official told him to go to the mechanics area.

Sexton is also expected to race this weekend. He provided an update on Instagram earlier this week.

“Wrong place wrong time… thankful to walk away from that one with some minor bruises. Hope you’re all good @CooperWebb2. See you guys in Indy”
