Austin Forkner Injury Update

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki announced today that Austin Forkner will miss the next 6 to 8 weeks after suffering “multiple abdominal injuries” in a crash at the beginning of the 250SX East/West Showdown at Sunday’s Monster Energy Supercross finale in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Forkner, who was running second and locked in a tight title fight with Dylan Ferrandis in the 250SX West Region, made a mistake on the dragon’s back and crashed hard. The race was red flagged as Forkner was attended to by medics.

The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki team is down to one rider at the moment (Cameron McAdoo) as Jordon Smith (torn ACL) and Garrett Marchbanks (lacerated liver, bruised lungs, and a torn MCL and PLC) are both out for the entire Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship which begins on July 18 at Ironman.
